Start by cutting the beef sirloin into bit size pieces. Season beef pieces with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
12 oz. beef sirloin, ½ tsp. salt, ¼ tsp. black pepper, ½ tsp. garlic powder
In a large skillet on high heat sauté beef pieces in ¼ cup of canola oil until golden brown on all sides (about 5 minutes). Remove beef from skillet and drain the oil.
¼ cup Canola oil for beef
Putting is Together:
Return the skillet to high heat and sauté 2 cloves of garlic in 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil until golden brown.
2 cloves of garlic sliced, 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
Once the garlic begins to turn golden brown, reduce to medium heat and add the sliced peppers, carrots, and zucchini and sauté for 3-4 minutes, mixing occasionally.
2 red bell peppers sliced, 2 medium carrots sliced, 2 small zucchini sliced
Next, add 2 tablespoons of teriyaki sauce, and return the beef to the skillet. Cooks for 5 minutes (mixing occasionally) until the vegetables soften.
2 tbsp. teriyaki sauce
To Serve:
Place in a large serving dish or on top of rice.
Notes
Invent Your Recipe: Stir Fries are so versatile with endless combinations of vegetables and protein. In this version I am using beef sirloin, zucchini, carrots, and red bell pepper. Broccoli would pair well with the beef teriyaki, as well as, just peppers and onions. Mix up your combinations and invent the stir fry that you like the best.
