Italian Pork Stew

My name is Tom. I am a food lover who has been cooking since I was a little kid. I am first generation Italian American....

Italian Pork Stew. Pork sautéed with garlic, carrots, potatoes, and onions and simmered in marinara sauce.

Growing up in an Italian household anytime my mom made stew it was with red sauce. I didn’t even know stew was more commonly made with brown gravy until I saw it at a restaurant.

There is a version of this recipe in my Italian Cookbook. You can grab your copy here.

Invent Your Recipe:

This recipe is an Italian take on a traditional stew. I am using marinara sauce in this recipe instead of a brown gravy. You can easily skip the marinara sauce and make this recipe with a brown gravy.

The combination of vegetables in this stew can really be what every you want. I have made this dish with mushrooms, bell pepper, sweet potatoes, asparagus, peas, and green beans. The way I have presented this recipe is the way that I most often prepare it; with the carrots, potatoes, and onions.
