Citrus Herb Turkey Bites with Broccoli. Turkey bites sautéed in butter with garlic, herbs, lemon, and broccoli.
Preparing a whole turkey can be a challenging and overwhelming task. Most of the time, turkey is made once or twice a year, on Thanksgiving, and or, Christmas, or another special occasion. I am sure there are people whole prepare a whole turkey a lot more, however, I am not one of them.
I know how to prepare a tender and juicy whole roasted turkey, however, with the time commitment needed to cook the turkey and the large size of the bird, I just prefer to prepare the turkey breast.
To reduce the cooking time even further, I like to cut the turkey breasts into bit sized pieces and use them as I would chicken, pork, or beef pieces. The idea for this recipe came from wanting to make a citrus herb turkey recipe, but I wanted something quicker to make, and I wanted to make it on the stovetop in a skillet.

Invent Your Recipe:
For this recipe, citrus herb turkey, I am using frozen broccoli. It is convenient so I always have some in the freezer. If you have fresh broccoli feel free to use that instead.
I have made this recipe before with chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, and scallops. The cooking time will vary depending on the meat you use, but I can say the above protein will work nicely in this dish.
For the citrus component of this recipe I am using lemon. However, you could use orange juice, lime, or even mandarin orange pieces. I am not sure how grapefruit would taste, but that is the beauty of Invent Your Recipe. Give it a try and you will know right away if grapefruit was a bad idea.
If you are looking for some more flavor or spice, feel free to add in what you like. Try some red pepper flakes or chili powder. How about some peppers and onions to sauté with the dish? Use the ingredients that you have on hand or really enjoy.
