16oz.green beans
1can6 oz. tomato paste
1sweet onion sliced
4clovesof garlic sliced
8oz.water
1/4cupextra virgin olive oil
1/2tsp.salt
1/2tsp.black pepper
Instructions
Preparing the Green Beans:
In a large skillet bring the olive oil to high heat. Next, add in the sliced garlic and saute until golden, about 2-3 minutes.
Next, add in the green beans, onion, salt, and pepper and saute on medium until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
Finally, add in the tomato paste and water and saute on medium for 5 minutes, mixing occasionally.
To Serve:
Serve as a side dish with meat, or as the focal point in pasta.

Invent Your Recipe:This is the second iteration of our green beans with garlic and onions recipe. In the first version we added in diced tomatoes when sauteing the green beans. In this version, we are using tomato paste and some water to make a quick marinara sauce.If you are not a fan of tomatoes or marinara sauce, leave out the tomato paste in this recipe. Sauteed garlic and onions is full of flavor and will be delicious with the green beans.
