The purpose of this blog is to demonstrate how a base recipe, in this case, barbecue chicken, can create a new recipe with a few ingredient changes. First, we create a recipe, then we taste the recipe, then we change up the ingredients to develop a new recipe from the original recipe. This is the innovative part of the process. Invent Your Recipe
This is the first version of the BBQ chicken recipe. In this version I cut the chicken into bite sized pieces and coated the pieces in flour before frying in oil. You can easily leave out the flour, and add the chicken to the hot oil and then season with the salt and pepper. You can also bread the chicken using an egg wash and breadcrumbs, in fact, a future BBQ chicken recipe might be made that way.
I added the onion to the skillet because I just love onions. The onion is pretty strong, so if you are not a fan of onions, or you just want to enjoy the taste of your favorite barbeque sauce, just leave the onion out.
