Baked Bone In Chicken Breast With Herbs. Bone in chicken breast layered with vegetables, seasoned with a sweet marinade, and backed in the oven.
When it is cold outside, especially when it is raining, I like simple meals that allow me to get cozy on the couch for family time. So I look for meals I can dump into a pan and bake in the oven.
This bone in chicken breast recipe is straight forward. Place the chicken in the pan, surround with vegetables of your choosing (or use the ones in the recipe), drizzle over with the marinade, and bake until done.
I like to leave the skin on the bone in chicken breast because it locks in some of the moisture from the chicken and adds some flavor. When you serve this chicken you can remove the skin.
This recipe will warm the house and leave room for quality family time.

Invent Your Recipe
For this recipe, Baked Bone In Chicken Breast In The Oven, I picked green beans, sweet potatoes, and onions for the vegetables. This recipe can work with all kinds or vegetables, including, white potatoes, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, and butternut squash, to name a few.
For the seasoning, I decided to use garlic powder instead of fresh garlic. No reason in particular, maybe I just did not feel like peeling the garlic. Either way, fresh or dried garlic works well for flavor.
I had dried thyme and dried basil on hand from the garden and used that for the herbs, however, use whatever you like. Try oregano, savory, sage, marjoram, or rosemary.
Use whichever seasoning you prefer. Even try some spice, like chili powder, cayenne pepper, or jalapeños to change the experience of this dish altogether.
