Notes
Invent Your Recipe:In this recipe I am using a bag of frozen California vegetable medley to make things quicker and easier. You can definitely use fresh vegetables, however, that will change the steps to this recipe a bit. To use fresh broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots you will first need to cut the vegetables into similar size pieces. This will ensure the vegetables cook evenly. After the first part of the recipe, when you are preparing the pork, you will add the sliced onion and sauté for 2 minutes, then and the other vegetables to the skillet and sauté for 3-5 minutes, mixing occasionally, until the vegetables begin to get softer. You may need to add some more oil if the leftover oil from cooking the pork is not enough. After this step, continue on with the recipe. If you are looking for an alternative to pork, I have also made this recipe with chicken pieces, steak pieces, and shrimp. If you want a vegetarian stir fry, remove the pork from this recipe and sauté up the vegetables with the rest of the ingredients. Better yet, add in some more vegetable like peppers, green beans, asparagus, spinach, or snow peas.
