Prepare the whole grain pasta according to the package instructions for al dente pasta. Before you strain the pasta save off 4 oz. of pasta water.
While the wheat pasta is cooking, place a large skillet on medium heat and add the extra virgin olive oil. When oil is hot, add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden, about 1-2 minutes
Add in the broccoli and sauté for 5 minutes, mixing occasionally.

Next, add in the cooked pasta and saved pasta water. Mix to combine everything.
Add in the salt, ground black pepper, and grated cheese. Cook for 5 minutes while mixing occasionally
